Respect - Antonio Ocasio (Tribal Winds)

.

Antonio Ocasio

Antonio Ocasio grew up in the South Bronx where the neighbourhoods were booming with a rich sound that included the African American and Puerto Rican culture. The combination of both cultures made an excellent arena for Antonio to have a broad and wonderful musical experience, including music genres such as Soul, Funk, Latin, Rap, Jazz and religious African music.

This experience, alongside his weekly visits to some of New York's legendary clubs, such as the 'Funhouse', 'Paradise Garage' and David Mancuso's 'Loft' parties, helped to shape Antonio's uncompromisingly open minded musical vision. This led to the formation of his Tribal Winds label (so as not to have to compromise producing the music that was in his heart), which is considered by many to be one of the deepest, most soulful, get down labels there is in today's underground dance movement. He has over then 30 releases under his belt (on labels like Wave, Ibadan, Kenlou, Counterpoint, Shelter, Tribal Winds and others) and a dj schedule that has taken him all over the world, spreading his eclectic/organic fusion of dance music.
