"It's now been 20 years since Glenn "Underground" Crocker released his first 12" on Dance Mania. Since then, he's released a formidable amount of records (many more than we can count) and found his own niche as a producer of deep, soul-flecked music that sits somewhere between classic deep house and the more progressive end of US garage. This latest 12" is in many ways typical of his recent work. Both "Techno Soul" (a slightly misleading title, as it's really a slightly brighter, more electronic take on classic US deep house) and "Ambient Jaz One" (first released in 2005) are musically adventurous and vividly detailed, offering dancefloor thrills for those who like their house music cultured and stylish."
