Glenn Underground Vega Rec. |

We all know that the highest quality level characterizes Vega Rec. Now is Glenn Underground, a truly live legend, that shows all his talent with these two awesome tracks.
“Crescendo” has a sweet guitar and melodic keys to open the way till a lovely jazzy piano comes in. “Urban Ensemble” has a more powerful beats and bass line, the guitar is more subtle and the synth is unpretentious, giving space to the jazzy keys do the work. Hot...
Anthony Nicholson / Miquifaye Circular Motion |
Anane feat Mr. V Vega Rec. |
With a sultry vocal by Anané and Mr V for the rap, this song has latin influences. The instrumental reveal, once again, the MAW are able to make a beautiful and dancefloor song. The Afro Carribbean beat with discrete percussions, soul keys, funky guitar and great bass make this track a hit that all the dancefloor must know! This is a Summer Anthem!
The package contain bonus beat and accapella. One more exellent single on Vega Records!

Kenny Carvajal feat. Carla Prather Crash |
A Crash acaba de lançar o vinyl do tema “First Time” de Kenny Carvajal.
-----------------
Out now on Dino & Terry’s label, “First Time” is a wonderful production from Kenny Carvajal. Carla Prathe’s lovely voice brings passion to the track and the intrumental part is truly irresistible: warm guitar solo and a gorgeous organ ride. Definetely, this is a release not to be missed.
Soldiers of Twilight Serial Limited |
Another hot release from the french label "Serial" for those who like deep and vocally stuff. It's just a breath of fresh air !
Soldiers of Twilight (Demon Richie & Dj Rork) offered us the highly groovy track "would u share" with one more time on the vocal the fantastic vibe of Ladybird. More deep & soulful atmosphere, lush harmonies with a perfect beat and on the B side another vision with the "fresh mix" more stronger with a funky guitar and a catchy bass. Exellent soul house and exellent for the dancefloor too.

Maxine Inniss Fuzion |
Fuzion Records are poised to raise the standard and value of 12" releases with a single that almost certainly needs to be double-purchased. With a full vocal mix and three raw dub versions, the possibilities of creative DJing are heightened. The eagerly anticipated follow up to Jellybean Soul's underground smash, I appreciate, is the title that launches Fuzion Records. Again George Mena and Frankie Estevez join forces under their Love House Music guise and turn out a thumping garage track with Maxine Inniss providing her unmistakable vocals. With refreshingly original yet masterfully penned lyrics, Maxine Inniss gives a proud but warm delivery of her second song, giving hope that a full artist album is not too far away.

Stephanie B feat. Live Orchestra – Can’t Stop The Feeling
.
It is always my hope to review new tracks that are favourites of yours and mine. However, my heart and passion stems from years of older house that rocked warehouses in the early nineties. So I will vary my selections from early 1990’s to now in hopes to keep you inspired and keep you playing the very music that stirs’ us within. This leads me to my next track for review called “Can’t Stop The Feeling”. This track was released in 1999 and I can remember it coming out. Although I missed its original release date I was fortunate to snag a copy of this gem in a vintage record shop. It’s the vibe and essence of the evolution in house music. It starts with a feeling and then becomes a vibe. This French house track still has me shaking my BOOTAY till dawn. Its soulfulness is enough to fill the emptiest of hearts.
.
Production value is top quality and the pressing has lasted 6 years with only minimal damage from handling. It definitely has the New York garage feel with a France harmony to the layers that this track exudes. Thankfully the producers made this track super DJ friendly with an intro and outro that would compliment any mix. This is a must have and if you can find it, hang on to it…even for the sake of having it.

.
Not only do you have “Can’t Stop the Feeling” on one side of this LP but you have a jazzy instrumental that would entice anyone into feeling the soul. If it weren’t for the flute and sax in this track it would sound like most tracks being produced nowadays. The soul and passion comes from the voice of instruments. The sax definitely takes this track to a whole new level of jazz and house. This production is definitely a New York contender but the France stellar production makes this LP a double treasure with double the pleasure. If you need a transition track from one vocal to another this particular version would bring your mix to new levels. It’s a perfect bridge to a higher playing field.

Rocco feat. Nicinha BS Traxx |
Essencial.

Break n' Bossa More Funk Into It Schema |
The latest instalment in Schema's prolific Break n' Bossa series is Chapter Seven: More Funk Into It. Primarily a CD only release, the wax sampler provides just two tracks featured on its shiny silver sister. Although this 12" only touches the surface of the full release, its content is exclusive and is an estimable release in its own right.
The 12" is reassuringly loud pressing, with the muted drum kick of Koom.h's Mr. Cool opening proceedings. Softly nodding under dinner party chatter, crystal piano keys and Salvo Dub's deep bass line, the groove soon drops into a contagious mid-tempo pulse that provides the hearty foundation for Giogio Rizzo's soothing percussion and Marco Martino's atmospheric keys.
On the flip, 7 Samurai turn out a splendid rework of No Problems, an original recording by The Dining Rooms, a production duo hailing from Milan, Italy. Stephano Guittoni, a successful disc jockey, and Cesare Malfatti, a musician emerging from Italy's punk scene, became one in 1998 to delve into the musical realms of hip-hop, funk, jazz and blues. After a full debut album and several exciting side-projects, the pair expanded their group, incorporating a full, five-piece band and recruiting Maria Arena to perform dazzling visuals at their gigs. No Problems steps away from the 4/4 groove of Mr. Cool and brings to the table an elegant swing-jazz swagger, strengthened by hip-shaking percussion and Jonas Hermes' cushioned double-bass.
More Funk Into It is an excursion into contemporary jazz, swing and house music, essential listening for all who love their vibes ebullient and eclectic.

Este EP é o terceiro retirado de “Relight”, contendo “Tangerine (Relight Kool Breeze mix)”, “Can You Find The Heart (Relight mix)” e “Fantasy Suite”, deliciosos temas soulful.
Como alguém disse, “smooth House has never sounded so good”.

PART I
Could you tell us how you got into Djing / Producing and about your early career?
I started DJing about 10 or 12 years ago when I got a free house record from a record store, which was a Frankie Knuckles record. I've been hooked ever since. I then asked around where I could get more music like that and the guy at the record store pointed out some flyers to loft and rave parties. I bought my first pair of turntables soon after, followed by drum machines and synths a few years after that.
What’s your music background?
I liked Rock and New wave alot when I was younger because that's all my brother played around the house. He was a guitar player in a band and needed someone to jam with while at home so he taught me how to play bass. From there I learned guitar, drums, then percussion. This was when I was around 9 or 10 years old. I've been into instruments ever since.
Now I play keys. I played keys on all of my music unless otherwise noted on the credits.
As for incfluences, I really love the music of Masters at work, Frankie Feliciano, Blaze, Spinna, Osunlade, Markus Enochson...
You are from Chicago, the birthplace of house music. Much respectable artists come from there and lots of others are emerging in the scene. Do you think Chicago is a “magic” place to the house producers?
There are a lot of talented people here in Chicago from DJs, to artists, producers, etc. But I wouldn't consider it a "Magic" place, simply because the scene has grown so much that there're wonderful music coming from all over. But yeah, I'm friends with a few producers here and we do help each other in one way or another. I wish I had that luxury starting out since I had no idea what to do. I actually still don't.
Nowadays, we see Electro and 80’s sound influencing many House productions. Do you think that, in order to move on in house music, producers have to always look back?
I really don't know the answer to that to be honest. My thing is good music is good music. I just hope to be a part of it for a very long time.
The numbers of files illegally shared on the Internet don’t stop to grow. As a producer, how is this affecting you? And as a DJ?What could be the solution?
Yes, it does affect the producers, the record labels, the stores etc. It used to be that the producers are the only ones playing the music before it comes out, which builds the anticipation for the consumer who are then eager to get one of the first copies. Now what happens is that the build-up goes away too quickly since everone's playing the new music way before it's released, drowning people with the newest and the hottest.
Unfortunately, the only way to stop it is to not give it out. But that's just not possible. Me personally, I'm guilty of wanting the newest. But I have no problems asking for it from the producers themselves, if it's not given to me beforehand. Of course I return the favor if I'm lucky enough that I get asked for my music.
PART II
Wich producing equipment are you using?
I use both software and hardware stuff. I mix on a Mackie 32:8 console, Nord Lead, MPC2000, JV1080, other rack stuff like effects, EQs and compressors. As for software, I use Cubase SX 2.0, MinimoogV, Lounge Lizard, EVP78, B4, Novation V-Station and BassStation VSTi, BlueTubes Bundle, Waves Plugins, you name it. Lately I use the EVP78 more than the Lounge Lizard for some reason.
What is your own favourite track, the one that you are most proud of?
They're all my favorite at the time. I say that because after hearing them so many times as I work on them, I get really sick of them and end up wanting to just half-ass it. I'm sure I'm not alone in this one. But out of all, I'd say "My words" because nobody wanted it at first. I shopped it to a ton of labels but all either never responded or simply turned it down. I was getting ready to put it out myself until I got the call from Mark Mendoza and Carl Dupree from Phuture Sole, which was a wonderful surprise. To date that project has been licensed 5 times.
If you have the opportunity, with who would you like to work with?
I would love to work with so many. Down to one, probably Raul Midon. The guy is a phenominal singer and musician.
What records are you currently spinning every time you play?
"Father" F. Feliciano mix is always in my bag, "Listen for it" by M. Enochson, Franck Roger's stuff, Mr.V's "Un dia bonito", Abicah Soul's "Diablo" & "just a call away", Duron Tarik's stuff, and anything by Louie Vega.
What can we expect to hear more from you in a near future?
I have a few things coming out. One is a remix for Smooth Agent, called "Sea of Love", a remix of Dwayne Morgan's "Everything" that I did for one to watch out for label Camio out of the UK. Currently working with a very talented singer Lafayete on a new project, as well as a couple of instrumentals which might end up being vocals, we'll see... . I've been bad but I try to update my site, www.kennycarvajal.info, with upcoming music and mixes, so pls. visit and don't hesitate to send me an e-mail to say hi.

Kaskade - "Everything (Kaskade Big Room mix)" [OM Records]
Well if you've ever looked for an inspirational house track then you would definitely have this production in your possession...as sexy as the vocals may be it's really the words that catch my attention...with the guitar effect in the background you realize that it's the waves of all different sounds that gives it energy...I have always praised Kaskade in all his productions because he keeps the soul and energy, deep and alive...I can't thank him enough for putting his heart into his music...
This is definitely the "Big Room" mix and would bring a beautiful crowd front and centre, where all the love is on the dance floor...I can vouch for the inspirational aspect of the message as I can't wait to play this for my soulful and inspired fans...and when I mix this track you can't help but want to play the entire song out...it's just better that way...
Kaskade - "Everything (original extended mix)" [OM Records]
Funny enough when I first heard the opening I felt like it had that retro feel of Depeche Mode-ness...definitely caters to the deeper folks who appreciate a softer approach to Collette's sultry voice...I'd definitely throw this down at a party of darker yummy choices...more underground tone and feel that would inspire me to throw this down over some bumpin bassline...it is a transition vocal track that helps build the ultimate crescendo...this is a must have to complete the variety remix's...
